Makeup With Marisa // Mono Fun

I feel like the new Mono Fun range from City Chic was made for me!

Well for the new 2016 me who vowed to incorporate more colour into my all black wardrobe. Yes it may only be white but that's a big step for me, so the Lunch Date Tunic was the perfect transition piece. I won't lie I was tempted by the black but decided to live on the edge!

It is such a versatile style which can take you from work to play and tie back in with the rest of your wardrobe. For the office, style it with a jacket (I added the Shimmer Jacket for a glam touch) and black pants or skinny jeans. It says corporate yet chic. For play I kept it simple yet sexy, adding a black clutch and lace up heels, perfect for dinner with the girls!

Now what makeup look could suit such a style? You could play it safe and go for a black smokey eye but we are living on the edge here! So I decided to team it with a graphic eyeliner. This trend rocked the runway in 2015 and perfectly complements this look. Plus you can get creative and design any look you like, using any colour, any eyeliner type - the choice is yours!

I chose to step outside of my cats eye comfort zone and add some additional lines and colours to make my look pop. I kept the rest of my makeup minimal by adding a nude lip, bronzer and highlighter, ensuring my eyes were the main attraction.

To get this graphic liner look I used my fave Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner in Trooper and started with a basic winged eyeliner but extended the line past the inner corner and added a white dot at the end using Kat Von D Ink Liner in Neruda (you could also try the metallic Lightning Liner range).

Then with the black liner draw a line along the lower lash line but just in the middle so it doesn't meet with the outer or inner eyeliner. Then add a black line on the outside of each eye - I used the edge of a business card to help create a precise line.

To finish the look take a white eyeliner pencil and line the lower waterline - this will give the illusion of a wider eye - and coat the lashes with mascara. I used the Nars Audacious Mascara.

Practice makes perfect with liquid liner so have a makeup removed soaked cotton tip on hand to help neaten up and create precise lines.
