Dark Romance

I've always been partial to a classic black and white outfit teamed with a camel trench - which is why when I attended the WGSN Trend Summit last week and they said that look is going to be back in a big way come next season I got so excited. WGSN are the biggest trend forecasters in the world, predicting the next big things in the fashion world whilst working with the top designers and brands in the world - so when they say something is going to be on trend - it is! The look they're predicting is called Dark Romance and features longer skits with mid length hems, Victorian lace details and pussy bow blouses all teamed with rich camels. So um, essentially they were predicting an outfit I already wore to go out to dinner the other week haha!

Dress City Chic Tea Length LBD Dress $119.95 AUD
Blouse Vintage pussy bow blouse

I loved the slightly Gothic vibe of the Dark Romance trend that was presented at the conference, as I have been really feeling this element when dressing of late, maybe because of just how cold it has been? I just want to wear all the layers all the time.

The camel trench coat is so perfect for the slightly 1970s Annie Hall era Woody Allen meets Wes Anderson's Royal Tenenbaums styling of my look. Too conceptual? Maybe, but when am I not?

Trench coat City Chic Caramel Kisses Trench $199.95 AUD

My pussy bow blouse is a vintage piece I've actually had for nearly 15 years now. When WGSN said that pussy bow blouses were going to make a big comeback by next winter I got so excited, can't wait to add to my collection. Hopefully City Chic release one of their own *hint hint*.

This is where my modern interpretation of Victorian era lace element comes in with these fishnet tights. They look amazing with the ankle boots, that are just so comfortable. So happy I got them.
