Another Day in Paradise with Guest Blogger Bianca Venessa

Greetings from San Diego, California!

Hola! Today was a beautiful day to walk around Coronado Island. Voted one of the best beaches in the United States, Coronado is home to the Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado Museum of History and Art, and not to mention, all the wonderful restaurants and boutiques, which line the well known, Orange Ave. Just a short ride over the big blue Coronado Bay Bridge, you'll find yourself within five minuets of Downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and the World Famous San Diego Zoo. In San Diego, you're never to far from an adventure.

Speaking about islands, let me tell you about this lovely Paradise Dress from City Chic's Island Girl Collection.

The Island Girl Collection contains of a variety of dresses including the Cool Flame Maxi, Batik Goddess Maxi, and the Drape Overlay Dress, and intricate pieces like the So Cool Pant and the Pacific Palazzo Pants, both being the perfect blend of fashion and comfort. But I have had my eye on this Paradise Dress and I finally caved in.

The Paradise Dress consists of a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and a shrilled back panel. Over a sea of black, the white abstract patterns pop between the rich reds and vibrant blues. Since the dress is made of thick, twill cotton, it holds its shape very well, and you will have an added assurance knowing that your dress will not fly up on the first gust of wind. The full pleated skirt adds tons of volume, which makes twirling and swirling effortless.

I wanted to define my waist a bit more, so I paired this lovely dress with our Miss Sharp Belt. When I have a louder outfit, i.e. clothing with patterns and prints, I like to add simplistic accessories to balance it out. Typically I'm not a fan of belts, but this one made the cut. It's a simple black elastic and leather band, finished with a gold geometric plate, makes it easy to pair with multiple outfits. I'm thinking this belt will also look fantastic with my Black Army Girl Mesh Tunic. To finish this outfit, I added some black flats and a pair of sunglasses.
