Asha's Summer Smoothies

Hey Guys,

I have a green smoothie almost every day so I can get in heaps of extra vegies without having to munch all day. It’s super easy to prepare and I can drink it at my desk throughout the day if I get hungry between meals. I find when I eat more fruit and vegetables I get heaps of energy to make it through the work day and my training in the evening.

There are so many different combinations you can try and it’s a great way to use up anything in your fridge that you’re not sure what to do with. Here’s a few of my favourite combinations:

Traditional Green
1 banana
1 apple
2 cups spinach
2 cups water

Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until completely smooth (I leave mine on high for 1-2 minutes). Sometimes if I’m in the mood for a real green boost I’ll add a few cups of kale, lettuce or extra spinach as well.


Adventurous Green
½ banana
½ cup grapes
¼ avocado
¼ a cucumber
6 almonds
2 cups spinach
A squeeze of lime
2 cups water

Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until completely smooth (I leave mine on high for 1-2 minutes).


Something Blue
1 banana
1 cup blueberries
1 cup almond milk (or cow’s milk if you eat dairy)
2 cups spinach
2 cups water

Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until completely smooth (I leave mine on high for 1-2 minutes).



You don’t have to use bananas, but I’ve found it gives a really nice texture. Get inventive and try out different flavour combinations. You could try protein power, mint, cinnamon, cashews, nut butter, oats, coconut water, dates, chia seeds, mango, pears, kiwi fruit, strawberries, beetroot, ginger – the list is endless.
