Asha's Frozen Banana Treats

 Hey Guys,

When I was little I’d go to my grandparents’ house for the school holidays to swim in their pool, watch movies and cook. I have so many great memories of beating cake batter with an electric mixer and spraying it all over the walls, toaster and kettle (sorry nanna and grandad!), but a great easy recipe that’s really stuck with me is frozen bananas.

This recipe is so easy to make, delicious and if your kids (or you) don’t like eating fruit, it’s a great way to enjoy it. As a kid I loved eating them and I still do!
What you’ll need:
4 ripe bananas
8 pop sticks
200g chocolate (I used dark chocolate)

Any toppings you like. Here’s what I used:
Flaked almonds
White chocolate

Peel the bananas, chop in half and insert a pop stick into each. Place on a baking tray and put in the freezer for at least 1 hour or overnight, until very cold or frozen.

Place chocolate in a small bowl and melt in the microwave. This should take about 30 seconds, just make sure you don’t overcook chocolate or it goes hard. Dip frozen bananas in chocolate, place on a sheet of baking paper and sprinkle with desired toppings.

Eat them straight away or store in the freezer for a quick, tasty snack.

If you don’t want to use chocolate, try dipping the bananas in lemon juice and then add the toppings. These taste delicious as well.
