I love that seeing plus size women in the media is becoming more and more common. Thanks to curvy fashion bloggers like myself our voices are being heard and the media is finally taking note. This month I've been featured in Cleo magazine alongside my stateside curvy bff Nicolette Mason and Canadian fatshion blogger Franceta Johnson, The cover story 'Bombshell Curves - The New Fashion Bloggers' takes a look at what inspires us, frustrates us and makes us blog all things plus size fashion and what style advice we would give to Cleo readers.
Nicolette's advice is "to wear what you love, because that's what inspires confidence - and nothing looks better than confidence."
Franceta muses "Don't let anyone tell you that you can't wear certain things because of your size - that's a huge lie. Wear whatever makes you feel amazing!"
My advice is to "try things on! Seriously! I have pieces in my wardrobe ranging from size 12 to 22, and the reason for this is sizing varies so much between stores. Get to know what shapes work on your body and don't get disenheartened when things don't work out. I try on a lot more than I but but am never left with that 'if only' feeling - at least I gave it a shot." I must say though that I am always the same size at City Chic which makes things a lot easier. Thanks City Chic!!! What I love is being able to mix designer with vintage with City Chic - which is where the ignoring the size on the label comes in. You can make designer and vintage work for you too!
