We should all be proud of our bodies! If you’re a size 6 or a size 26, you can look and feel beautiful, you just need to believe it. If you’re happy, confident and feeling good about yourself, other people will automatically feel the same way. We tend to be our own worst critic and we need to start being nicer to ourselves!
A positive mindset is the most important part of gaining self-esteem and body confidence. We get used to shrugging off compliments and taking on the criticisms from other people, when really we should be doing the opposite. If someone smiles at you or says they like your new haircut, take it in, accept it and enjoy it. If you can learn to stay positive, no matter what life throws at you, you can always be happy.
Instead of looking at yourself in the mirror and seeing the things you don’t like, try picking 3 things about your appearance that you do like. It might be your eyes, your shoulders and your awesome booty. Now every time you walk past a mirror I want you to look at your favourite bits and think to yourself ‘I look good!’ No one is perfect…at all! Every person is beautiful in their own way and you just need to find the things about yourself that you like, the things that make you, you.
I always feel the most confident after getting my hair and eyebrows done. The little touches can make you feel like a completely new person. Getting dressed up and pampering yourself is a great way to improve the way you feel. Try painting your nails, having your hair done or getting a really bright shade of lipstick. Sometimes a fresh new look can be just want you need to feel good.
City Chic have a great deal on hot lingerie sets for Valentine’s Day. Why not grab yourself something sexy and feel confident knowing you look good, just the way you are!
I’d like to leave you with one of my favourite quotes from Tyra Banks:
‘Girls of all kinds can be beautiful – from the thin, plus-sized, short, very tall, ebony to porcelain-skinned; the quirky, clumsy, shy, outgoing and all in between. It's not easy though because many people still put beauty into a confining, narrow box...Think outside of the box...Pledge that you will look in the mirror and find the unique beauty in you.’
