Puttin' On The Ritz!

So. London can be MAGIC. One of the great traditions for style and elegance here in the UK is High Tea. Tiny sandwiches, cakes, scones and... tea (or coffee, if you prefer)! For Christmas, I bought my mother in law a trip to The Ritz for a luxurious afternoon of Champagne and High Tea in the illustrious "Palm Court".

I had to book THREE months in advance and it was super pricey... BUT - as a Christmas gift and a treat - it was wonderful and very much "worth" the money paid. The tiny features were astounding too - this is the TOP of one of the little macarroons!

There is a strict dress code for Afternoon Tea at the Ritz - with men having to wear a suit and tie... Jeans and trainers are strictly prohibited! I went for simple, classic style - in a City Chic Dot Dress, Blazer, Stockings and Heels. Makeup was kept simple and nothing was too overt.

Would you like to see a super cheesy photo of me with a glass of champagne?

It really was a magic and SPECIAL experience. If you're coming to London and want to do something decadent and beautiful and wonderful - I highly recommend this! Meanwhile - SCONES!!!

Plus Size Bloggers in Grazia Australia

Grab a copy of this weeks Grazia Australia magazine to see a fab interview with me and some international curvy bloggers talking all this plus size fashion. We were asked to nominate our favourite plus size brands and of course I said City Chic. Its great to see such a popular fashion weekly feature plus size fashion in its pages and its and honour to have been chosen to represent Australia.

I also got asked to describe my personal style, which as you know by now is quirky and inspired by the streets of Harajuku. I think the photo they chose of me represents that style well, what do you think?

Preppy Peplum

Whilst in Melbourne recently I visited the beautiful old artist's colony Montsalvat with my mum. Built in the 1930's by Justus J√∂rgensen Montsalvat is not only Australia's oldest artist colony but also a stunningly beautiful place to visit. I wore an outfit straight from my Steal Her Style - Blogger Edition blog post inspired by plus size fashion blogger The Duchess. Peplum's are crazy flattering on my figure, in fact this peplum dress is possibly the most flattering piece of clothing I have ever worn. It looks and feels like it was made especially for me.

Outfit Details
Accessorised with my Miu Miu glitter sunglasses, a shiny pink clutch in the shape of a candy wrapper, a shiny pink necklace and collar tips.

Collar accessorising is a big trend right now. Here I have buttoned up my collar all the way and added collar tips from ebay and placed my pink necklace under the collar just peaking out for a statement making look.

My rainbow bangles are a gift from my sister's recent trip to India. If you toned down on the accessories in this look the outfit is perfect for the office - just add a pair of black heels and a classic black tote and voil√† office ready in minutes.

I love peplum's! Do you see just how flattering this dress is on me? Peplums hide all your problem areas and accentuate only the good ones. No visible belly line and no love handles as the peplum skims over that area. Instead you are left with a clean line to your hips and the illusion of a small waist. Hence the peplum is the perfect curvy girl figure flatterer!

My pink accessories pull the look together and give a little kick to the all black dress.

Have you got in on the figure flattering peplum trend too?

Out and about in London this week, my boyfriend totally Papped me.

Well, not really. I asked him to take photos of me in this amazing fitted denim dress, because I felt really pretty and wanted to show it to you all. x.

I wore this at the weekend to meet up with my brother who happened to be in London. I swear, it's like magic when my family stops by here in the UK as it is an ULTRA rare event. My brother and his wife were heading for a trip to Iceland (!!) to see the Northern Lights, needless to say, I was jealous! To be honest, I was lucky though too because they deliberately stopped over in London to have a day with me and one of my sisters (who actually lives in Bristol). It was a real family day - and since I live so far from home, they can be few and far between. It was a happy, great day!

You can see the dress is absolutely banging - and while sold out in Australia - it IS still available through the USA site. This is only my second denim dress and I was impressed with how warm it kept me - but also - how lovely and structured the dress was, based on fabric, alone.

Stud Love

You should know by now that I love studs. There isn't more I can say except I love anything studded, from bags to shoes and everything in-between I do love me a bit of punk studded detailing. The edginess of studs and leather is a combo that can't be beat. So when I saw this studded collar tunic at the City Chic showing at PSFWA I knew I had to have it. Its everything I love in one piece; black, sheer, studs and collar detailing. The sexiness of the sheer with the edginess of the studs is what I love most about it. Teaming it with my more punky accessories, like my leather studded bag and black buckle wedges, and my more girly pieces, namely my giant black hair bow, I have made the tunic my own, a unique look for a unique piece.

Outfit details
Dress City Chic Stud Collar Tunic $89.95 AUD
Belt City Chic Metal Plate Belt $29.95 AUD
Accessorised with a black hair bow, pink John Lennon sunglasses, a black studded bag and some black buckle wedges.

 Studs, how I love thee.

Pink hair and pink sunglasses, a litlte matchy matchy but I think it works.

A black pedicure finished the look.

Do you love studs too?
