City Chic Style- What We Wore in Las Vegas

City Chic style was seen everywhere during The Curvy Revolution in Las Vegas. Throughout the weekend I heard tons of great feedback and was given many compliments on my City Chic ensembles, so I wanted to give you a detailed look at what was worn, and how each curvy fashionista put their City Chic looks together by adding their personal styling touches...

I (Reah Norman) am wearing the "Zip Me Up Baby Dress" that I have styled with a sparkly scarf, studded belt, black tights, and slouchy boots.

Courtney is wearing the "Vicki Dress", which was in City Chic stores a few months ago. Courtney said "this is my all time fav little black dress (LBD) as it hugs my curves in all the right places"!

Madeline Figueroa-Jones, Editor of PLUS Model Magazine is wearing the "Flower Rain Dress" that she has styled with a sleek black cardigan and belt, along with black tights and strappy sandals (yes, that's right, ladies- tights with open toed shoes... watch for this trend, you will be seeing it everywhere this season)!  Kuddos to Maddy for "thinking outside the fashion box" as I always say!

I am in love with the "Roxanne Dress".  I must admit, I was reluctant to try this dress because I usually wear dresses and skirts that have an "a-line" cut since my body type is an "apple" and I carry most of my weight in the mid-section, but as soon as I put it on, it fit like a glove and was completely flattering!
I am now a believer and will be ordering the "Stripe Roxanne Dress" asap!!!

Courtney is wearing the "Contrast Ribbon Ruffle Victoria Dress" that she has styled with black patent leather peep toe heels.  This look is simple and classic, yet fun and flirty, and as always, she looks aaahhhhmmazzinggg!

Madeline Figueroa-Jones of PLUS Model Magazine is wearing the "So Cute Contrast Dress" that she has styled with black tights, a black shrug, and a playful hairstyle to show off her statement earrings.  I also have this dress and I LOVE it!!! As a matter of fact, Maddy and I had to arm wrestle to decide who was going to wear it while we were in Vegas... she won!

Courtney is "loungin' around" in a brand new dress from the "Miss Military" collection... look out for it online- it will be available soon!  Shout out to her classic Chanel clutch- LOVE it!

Co-host of The Curvy Revolution fashion finale event, Angela Adderly, is wearing the feminine "Fergie Dress" in a simple and classic way, with a pair of black patent peep toe pumps.  This dress is super flattering and it fits her like a glove!

Head designer, Lucy wearing the "Mesh Studded Skater Top" with tights and boots, as she styles one of The Curvy Revolution attendees in the "Paradise Bird Dress" for the fashion finale event.

Courtney looks stunning in the "Roxanne Dress" that she has styled with a belt and black tights, Lucy is rockin' the "Drapey Sequin Killer Jacket" with the "Feather Fantasy Skirt" from the new "Crystal Glam" collection, and I am wearing a dress from the brand new collection as well that will be available online soon!

Plus models in City Chic! Far left: the "Brocade Dress", Far right: the "Color Dream Top"styled with "High Waist Polly Short" and a belt, Second from right: Heather Justice in the "Pleat Helena Maxi".

Far right, plus model Samantha Davis rockin' the pink carpet in the in the "Wild Zebra Top"

More CC style at the fashion finale event... the "So Cute Contrast Dress" and the "Paradise Bird Dress" make another appearance.

Plus model Allison McGevna is wearing the "Emily Rose Dress" that she has styled with nude peep toe pumps and a metallic clutch. I am wearing the "Batwing Top" as a tunic with black tights, black boots, and my favorite leopard print scarf, and plus model Griselangel Paula is wearing the "Lace Tuxedo Jacket" that she has paired with her own red pencil skirt and grey cami, and statement necklace.

Nicole Esperanza Zepeda is ready for the after party in the "Contrast Ribbon Ruffle Victoria Dress" that she has styled with black pointed pumps and a classic black clutch.

Well, there you have it... City Chic style was all over Vegas last weekend, and it's only the beginning!  I can't wait to see more City Chic style out and about here in the states!

Crystal Glam

Last Thursday our stores started receiving brand new stock from City Chic's latest range "Crystal Glam" and I'm beyond excited because this is totally my look! I love anything sparkly or over the top, it just makes me want to get dressed up and hit the town!
I rushed into my local City Chic store to try on this gorgeous sequined jacket and instantly fell in love. Please excuse the fact I didn't put on make up or do my hair. I was too excited to fluff about, I just had to get in store quick smart. The cut of the Drapey Sequin Killer Jacket is awesome and I really do love the draping at the front, it's a bit of a twist on the sequin blazer you may have seen around online from other labels. I'm also wearing the Puff Sleeve Top in Purple, a new shade brought out just for Crystal Glam.
The fit is nice, I got a size L because as a photographer I'm always bending and stretching so I require a lot of movement from things I wear. The M did fit me perfectly but I preferred a roomier fit. I'm not the shy type when it comes to clothes so I can see myself wearing this day or night depending on the occasion.
I like that the hem and the hem of the sleeves have graduated sequin work, I think it's really pretty and breaks up the block of shimmery fabric. The care instructions for this item are pretty low maintenance, no dry cleaning or hand washing required. Just turn it inside out, place it in a laundry bag and wash as normal, too easy!
The staff were busy unpacking stock when I arrived and it was so cool to see next month's look developing. Lots of black, charcoal, cream and lilac with lots of sparkles and gems. I can't wait to see what else City Chic releases in the coming weeks.

What's your favourite piece from the Crystal Glam collection so far?

The Curvy Revolution 2011 - City Chic in Las Vegas

This past weekend, Team City Chic and I had a whirlwind adventure in Las Vegas at The Curvy Revolution Plus Size Convention at Planet Hollywood.  City Chic was proud to be a co-sponsor of the first annual plus size convention, and I had the honor of attending the weekend of festivities along with them, in order to bring you the inside scoop on all the jam-packed fun, including VIP parties, a runway competition, vendor expo, workshops and panel discussions, and fashion finale event.

On Friday evening, we mingled, enjoyed appetizers and cocktails, and watched on as plus model, actress, and celebrity makeup artist, Rosie Mercado hosted the "Miss Curve Competition" for all of the convention attendees, plus industry professionals, and VIP's. It was truly empowering and inspiring to see all the confident contestants strut their stuff on the runway and celebrate everything they love about their curves. Madeline Figueroa Jones, editor of PLUS Model Magazine was on hand to judge the competition, as well as share her advice and expertise in the industry with the contestants and all the attendees.

On Saturday evening, team City Chic got decked out in our fanciest City Chic ensembles and made an appearance at The Curvy Revolution's "Pink and Black Charity Gala". Later that night, we celebrated in true Las Vegas fashion and partied like rock stars at Koi Lounge Planet Hollywood.  We sipped on drinks and had an amazing time dancing the night away.

Sunday was the last day, and main fashion finale event of The Curvy Revolution and team City Chic was front row to attend the fashion show, which was co-hosted by multi-media maven, B. Scott and Angela Adderly, and included a showcase of one of a kind creations from independent designers, as well as clothing from companies such as Jill Alexander, Bettie Page, About Curves, and Always for Me, with a fabulous finale fashion show by Lane Bryant. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the diverse group of models with all levels of experience and all different shapes and sizes in the first portion of the show, then seeing the top plus models in the industry strut their stuff for the Lane Bryant finale.  All aspects of the plus size industry came together during this fashion finale event to celebrate everything we love about the plus industry and spread the plus fashion love!

I had a wonderful time in Las Vegas with team City Chic!  We had an amazing opportunity to meet and mingling with top professionals in the plus industry, and to give everyone an up-close and personal look at the City Chic brand, which is being welcomed with open arms into the US market. Throughout the weekend I was bombarded with positive feedback and excitement about the brand being available in the US.

I am honored to be part of the City Chic blog team and to be helping spread the word in the US about this amazing brand and I look forward to the day the when I can walk into a store here in the US and purchase their clothing.

Throughout the weekend I received tons of compliments on what I was wearing, so stay tuned for "What We Wore"... an up-close look at the City Chic looks that were worn by myself, and other attendees during The Curvy Revolution.
