Festival Fashion

Summer is here and with Summer comes my favourite thing in the world; SUMMER FESTIVALS! We are lucky enough to live in a place where we can at times be very spoilt for choice when it comes to Summer Festivals! There are so many around it can be hard to choose which ones to go to. An even harder decision to make is what to wear to these festivals. You want to look and feel fantastic but also need to wear something practical, a festival isn't a club and a dress and killer heels aren't going to cut it this time! Never fear ladies, I have put together two fantastic outfits to help give you some ideas!

Outfit 1: "Sunset Sounds"
Sunset Sounds is a boutique style festival held over two afternoons in Brisbane. It's the brother/sister festival of Falls Festival and Southbound (They share the same bands). The venue for Sunset Sounds is the Brisbane Riverstage/Botanic Gardens. It's in many ways a garden festival, a very relaxed party vibe so you can get away with wearing a cute dress and still come home looking fantastic. Luckily City Chic have some gorgeous dresses that would be very suitable for this type of festival! When it comes to festival makeup I like to keep things simple, it's not the time or the place for a full face of make up so I like to stick to a slick of mascara, some eyeliner and a bold lip colour to add a bit of fun to my outfit.

Outfit 2: "Big Day Out"
Big Day Out is Australia's biggest festival. The Cream of the crop! When it comes to choosing an outfit for a festival like Big Day Out comfort and practical wear is the key! The day can be extremely long; Gates open at 11am and the festival finishes at around 10:30pm. The venues are always large so you can guarantee you will be doing a lot of walking to make sure you fit all your favourite bands in. I loved this top and these shorts from City Chic. They are very practical and comfortable, fantastic for keeping the sun off your skin, excellent to wear on a hot day, and of course extremely fashionable!
