Innovative American magazine has dedicated its whole February issue to plus size models and fashion. The spreads are truly inspirational.
With Lady GaGa's stylist Nicola Formichetti, Chanel's designer and general fashion maestro Karl Lagerfield and not to mention renowned fashion photographer Terry Richardson working on the shoots for the issue, it truly is a ground breaking momentous occasion, to get fashion bigwigs like Karl Lagerfield to work on this project is no mean feat in itself. He famously is opposed to plus size models and once said "No one wants to see curvy women, you've got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly".
This issue will hopefully mark a turning point in the fashion industry where plus size fashion is accepted and seen as high fashion. Why do we have to miss out while everyone else gets to have all the fun? For me as a stylist it's even more exciting as I have always wanted to portray plus size fashion the way I see it, that it's beautiful and just as creative.
